Congratulations to Dr. Candice Merritt

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Candice Merritt defended her dissertation entitled “In Search of Our Mothers' Freedom,” under the direction of Professors Jennifer Nash (chair), Tracy Vaughn-Manley, and Jose Medina.
Candice will be Assistant Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at UNC - Chapel Hill starting this Fall. We are so proud of Candice and of all of our Black Studies PhD students!
